The Recipe of Spicy Fresh Green Peas:
Quantity of fresh green pea pods: approx. 250gm
In a concave iron tava, on medium heat, blend finely sliced pieces of a big tomato with adequate quantity of warm, any mild-flavour vegetable oil; add fresh green peas to the melted tomato mixture; blend the mix with smidgen of salt – according to preference of flavour, 1/2 tsp. of sambar masala or any other garam masala – according to preference of flavour, 1/4 tsp. of asafoetida powder, 1/4 tsp. of turmeric powder, 1/4 tsp. of any chilli powder according to preference of flavour – I had opted for Kashmiri chilli powder for its mild-pungent and mild-red colour; add enough water to blend with the mixture for the green peas to cook.
As iron tava is a heat efficient cookware, the water to cook the peas may evaporate quickly; you can add more water to the mix to cook the green peas.
