Poha is flat light dry flakes of rice which ironically contains about 20 mg of iron in every 100 g of its raw flakes.

A pleasant recipe to prepare poha:

  • Fry finely sliced onions in ghee.
  • Add salt and finely sliced tomatoes to it.
  • Enrich the melted mixture with pieces of ham and finely chopped coriander leaves.
  • Add a pinch of turmeric powder to this mixture.
  • Soak poha in water and immediately add the squeezed poha to the mixture.
